The Scars of War Foundation (SOWF) carries out scientific research into the neurological and psychological problems created by wars and other disasters. Recovery from catastrophic events is hampered, and sometimes prevented, by the effects of physical and psychological trauma. For its first decade, SOWF will focus on the problems suffered by security forces and other emergency agencies.
