1.TO PROMOTE THROUGHOUT THE WORLD THE REHABILITATION, PRESERVATION AND PROTECTION OF PERSONS WHO ARE OR AT ANY TIME HAVE BEEN VICTIMS OF TORTURE OR WHO HAVE SUFFERED ANY FORM OF CRUEL AND INHUMAN TREATMENT AND TO ASSIST THEM, AND WHERE APPROPRIATE THEIR FAMILIES, IN GIVING REDRESS FOR THEIR SUFFERING 2.TO PROVIDE FINANCIAL ASSISTANCE TO THE VICTIMS OF TORTURE AND ANY OTHER FORM OF CRUEL AND INHUMAN TREATMENT THROUGHOUT THE WORLD AND LEGAL ASSISTANCE TO SUCH OF THEM SEEKING REDRESS FROM WHATEVER SOURCE 3.TO SEEK THE ENFORCEMENT WHEREVER POSSIBLE OF THE RIGHT OF VICTIMS OF TORTURE TO FAIR AND ADEQUATE COMPENSATION 4.TO PROCURE THE ABOLITION OF TORTURE BY ALL LAWFUL MEANS INCLUDING WITHOUT LIMITATION PROVIDING INFORMATION AND OTHER ASSISTANCE TO STATES OR GOVERNMENTS PROSECUTING TORTURERS AND THOSE WHO CONSPIRE WITH THEM.
