Aims & activities

Founded in 1959, within weeks of the Dalai Lama reaching India, Tibet Relief Fund has been working with Tibetans for over 50 years. Today the need is a great as ever. We continue to work with Tibetans to give a sustainable future through developing humanitarian aid projects within Tibet, India & Nepal and funding initiatives in education, healthcare, self community building and youth development.

(1) TO RELIEVE NEED PARTICULARLY AMONGST THOSE WHO ARE TIBETAN AND/OR SPEAK THE TIBETAN LANGUAGE AND THOSE WHO ARE REFUGEES FROM THE TERRITORIES OF TIBET AND OTHER AREAS ADMINISTERED OR CLAIMED BY THE PEOPLE’S REPUBLIC OF CHINA FROM THE AREAS BORDERING ON TIBET (“BENEFICIARIES”); (2) TO PROVIDE FOR THE EDUCATION OF THE BENEFICIARIES; (3) THE ADVANCEMENT OF RELIGION BY PROVIDING INSTRUCTION FOR THE BENEFICIARIES IN THEIR FAITH AND FOR THE ENDOWMENT OF PLACES OF RELIGIOUS WORSHIP AND MEDITATION.’
