1) TO ADVANCE EDUCATION AT UNIVERSITY LEVEL BY PROMOTING, FUNDING, ENDOWING THE FOUNDATION OF A MULTI-DISCIPLINARY 'CENTRE FOR PEACE RESEARCH', OR ' CENTRE FOR PEACE AND CONFLICT STUDIES', AT OXFORD; THE CENTRE WOULD SERVE AS A RESOURCE FOR STUDENTS, TEACHERS, RESEARCHERS AND OTHER ENGAGED IN THE STUDY OF THE CAUSES AND CONSEQUENCES OF CONFLICT AND THE CONDITIONS AND PROCESSES WHICH BUILD OR MAINTAIN PEACE. 2) TO ADVANCE EDUCATION AT UNIVERSITY LEVEL BY SUPPORTING AND FUNDING TEACHING AND RESEARCH IN THE FIELD OF PEACE AND CONFLICT STUDIES, PRIMARILY AT THE PROPOSED CENTRE; AND BY FUNDING THE DISSEMINATION OF THE RESULTS OF SUCH RESEARCH, AND THE DEVELOPMENT OF LINKS WITH PRACTITIONERS. 3) TO ADVANCE PUBLIC EDUCATION IN THE FIELD OF PEACE AND CONFLICT STUDIES BY PROMOTING OPEN LECTURES, SEMINARS AND CONFERENCES, AND BY SUPPORTING OTHER EDUCATIONAL INITIATIVES FOR THIS PURPOSE.
